Get every Spotify play.
ListenLens runs on Spotify’s Extended Streaming History: every song you’ve played since you opened your account. It’s free, and Spotify usually sends it within a few days.

Six steps. Most of it is waiting.
Open Account privacy
In a web browser, go to spotify.com/account/privacy (opens in a new tab) and log in. Your phone’s browser works too, just not the Spotify app.
Scroll to “Download your data”
Spotify offers a few packages there: Account data, Extended streaming history and Technical log information.
Tick “Extended streaming history”
Untick anything else that’s selected; ListenLens doesn’t need it. Then press Request data.
Confirm in your inbox
Spotify emails you a confirmation link. Your request doesn’t start until you click it. No email? Check spam and promotions.
Wait for the “ready” email
It usually arrives within a few days. Meanwhile, sign in and try ListenLens on a sample listener’s history.
Download the zip
Download it soon after the email arrives, because the link expires. Keep the zip as it is. No need to unzip it.
One zip. Your whole history.
Inside is a folder of JSON files, each covering a year or a few of listening. Every entry is one play.

}Fictional example. Highlighted fields are what most questions use.
- Music only, for now. Podcasts and videos are in the export too. ListenLens skips them today.
- IP addresses stay out. Spotify logs one for every play. We keep your original zip so we can reprocess it as ListenLens improves, but never put those addresses into the history you ask about.
- Spotify’s own field guide. The ReadMeFirst PDF explains every field, if you’re curious.
Common snags.
How long does it take?
Usually a few days. Spotify’s official limit is 30 days, and the clock only starts once you click the confirmation link in Spotify’s first email.
Account data or extended history?
Account data includes roughly your last year of streaming, with just the track, artist and time played. Extended streaming history covers your whole account, every play since you joined, and adds skips, shuffle, device, country and why each song started and ended.
Is it free without Premium?
It’s free, and it works the same for free and Premium accounts.
Can I request it in the app?
No. The Download your data section is only on Spotify’s website. Open spotify.com/account/privacy in any browser, on your phone or computer.
Where is my confirmation email?
Check spam and promotions, and make sure you’re looking in the inbox of the email address on your Spotify account. If it’s not there, request the data again from the privacy page.
What if my download link expires?
Yes. Request the data again from the same page. Spotify prepares a fresh export, so the wait starts over, which is why it’s worth downloading as soon as the email arrives.
