These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and ListenLens (“we”, “us”) about using listenlens.com and the ListenLens connectors for AI assistants (together, “the service”). By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use ListenLens.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data and is part of these terms.
Who can use ListenLens
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Your account is personal. Use an email address you control and keep access to it secure, because anyone who can sign in as you can see your listening history.
- You’re responsible for what happens through your account, including through AI assistants you connect to it.
Your data
Your Spotify export and everything built from it stay yours. You give us a limited permission to store, process and display that data, and to send parts of it to the AI providers described in our privacy policy, only so we can run ListenLens for you. That permission ends when your data is deleted.
Only upload your own export, or one you have the owner’s clear permission to upload. Listening history is personal data.
ListenLens is not a backup service. Keep your own copy of the zip Spotify sends you.
The service and plans
ListenLens turns your Spotify Extended Streaming History into a private database and lets you ask questions about it in plain language, on our website or through AI assistants you connect.
The free plan currently includes plays from 1 January 2025 onwards and up to 30 chat messages a day. We may adjust these limits to keep the service running. The app tells you when you reach one.
Paid plans. We may offer paid plans later, for example to include your full history. Before you pay anything, we’ll show you the price and the terms that apply, and you’ll have to agree to them. Nothing is ever charged automatically just because you use the free plan.
ListenLens is a young product. We may add, change or remove features as it develops, and we’ll tell you in advance about changes that significantly reduce what you get.
AI answers
Answers are written by AI models from queries run on your data. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they can only be as accurate as the data Spotify provides. You can open the query behind each answer to check it.
ListenLens is for curiosity and fun. Don’t rely on its answers for financial, legal, medical or other important decisions.
Claude, ChatGPT and other services
If you connect ListenLens to Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant, that assistant is a separate service with its own terms and privacy policy. You decide what to share with it, and we aren’t responsible for how it works or what it does with the results it receives.
ListenLens is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify, OpenAI or Anthropic. Their names and trademarks belong to them and are used only to describe compatibility.
Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- upload someone else’s data without their permission;
- try to access other people’s data, or parts of our systems that aren’t meant for you;
- overload, disrupt or work around the limits of the service, for example with automated bulk requests;
- resell or redistribute access to ListenLens;
- upload malicious files, or use the service for anything illegal.

Our software and content
The ListenLens website, software, design and text belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for as long as you use the service under these terms.
Availability
We work to keep ListenLens running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. It may be interrupted for maintenance, by problems with the providers we rely on, or by things outside our control.
Leaving, and ending accounts
You can stop using ListenLens at any time. To have your account and data deleted, email [email protected], as described in our privacy policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll warn you first and explain why.
If we ever shut ListenLens down, we’ll email you at least 30 days in advance and then delete your data.
Warranties and liability
ListenLens is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond those in these terms.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 50 euros.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. For significant changes we’ll email you at least 14 days before they take effect. If you don’t agree with them, you can stop using ListenLens and have your data deleted. If you keep using it after they take effect, the new terms apply.
Your rights as a consumer
If you live in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies.
